GREYSTONES FARM NATURE RESERVE DISCOVERY ZONE AND TRAILS

Client: Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust

GWT have joined up with the local dairy farm to manage this important heritage land for both wildlife and agriculture, whilst celebrating the archaeological aspects of the site which date back to 6000BC. We designed this interactive heritage exhibit to excite and encourage visitors to go out and explore the archaeology and meadows trails where they can learn about modern farming techniques (and even milk their own cow) as well as walk the timeline and visit an iron age dwelling.

ROCK AND ICE FIELD STATION EXTERNAL

ROCK AND ICE FIELD STATION EXTERNAL

Client: Shropshire Wildlife Trust

This re-imagining of a bird hide led to the design of both an internal and external exhibit. Set in the nature reserve at Wood Lane on the edge of TG’s quarry, the outside of the buildling is designed as a mock field station on a glacier with talking rocks, whilst the inside explores the geology of the area and provides a resource for schools and families alike.

SEATON JURASSIC VISITOR CENTRE

SEATON JURASSIC VISITOR CENTRE

Client: East Devon District Council and Devon Wildlife Trust

Our largest project to date at £1.1million, this amazing project proved our ability to scale up when necessary. Between us, we were involved in this award winning project from concept to completion and project managed the entire fit-out of the discovery halls as well as the design and build of the external landscape, a complete infinity pool extension to the visitor centre and a series of public art sculptures as discovery points around Seaton.

The exhibit involves travelling back in time, exploring the home of a fellow time traveller, learning about the geology of Seaton’s place on the Jurassic Coast and it’s future survival with the threat of climate change. Visitors are encouraged to collect a passport and take the survival challenge. As part of the experience, visitors can board a timeship which involves working together to power and steer it through a Jurassic sea discovering giant marine reptiles along the way. They are then plunged into a rockpool where they discover an extreme environment that has survived for millennia with little change.

Following this they are introduced to the wonders of the Seaton landscape today where they are actively encouraged to go out and explore the landscape further and complete their survival challenge.
